
The M. Kenneth Hoefner Scholarship Fund was started by Seattle Firefighter Kenny Hoefner in December of 1997. Since then, he has helped hundreds of children and grandchildren of Seattle Firefighters pay for college by donating over $500,000 to the fund. Kenny Hoefner retired from the Seattle Fire Department in 2009 after spending 50 years with it. He was a driver on Engine 33 which is one of the busiest engine companies in Seattle.
