General Fund The General Fund helps people in many ways. For every IAFF Fire Fighter killed in the line of duty, their family receives a donation from Seattle’s Bravest Charity. The fund is also used to help fire fighters and their families who face financial hardship due to unforeseen medical expenses. The charity supports other charities like Youth Care, Treehouse, and Wounded Warrior Program. The fund is also used to provide emergency supplies for local Seattle families who are displaced from their homes due to fire. Finally, the fund donates to communities affected by natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, and the tornadoes in Oklahoma.
